This is still one of my favourite tracks in Tassie from a scenic as well as a driving challenge perspective. Last travelled January 2010. Unfortunately as a result of a bushfire a couple of years ago, there are still a lot of dead Tea Tree stags hanging out over the track and these are hell on the paintwork. This is only on the last one third of the trip though.
On January’s trip we encountered a huge Myrtle Tree that had blown down over the track which fortunately had shattered the trunk when it hit. With the use of a combination of winching and axemanship (I use the term loosely) we were able to create a gap large enough to manouvre the three vehicles through. Rest of the track was in good nick.
